What is a vehicle safety check

A vehicle safety check is a short inspection of your vehicle, recorded in the M+ app instead of on paper. Your employer decides which items appear on your check and how often it needs doing.

Each check is made up of a list of check items, for example:

  • Tyres and tyre pressure
  • Lights and indicators
  • Windscreen, wipers and washers
  • Mirrors and glass
  • Brakes and warning lights
  • Bodywork damage
  • Fluid levels

You work through the list, mark each item as a pass or a fail, add a photo where one is asked for, and submit the completed check. Your fleet team sees the result straight away.

Walkthrough

When vehicle safety checks are due, it will be displayed under "outstanding tasks" on the unsaved trips dashboard.

Select "Review Now".

Then, on the "Outstanding Tasks" page, select "Vehicle Safety Checks".

Here you will be able to view all your pending and historical vehicle safety checks. If there are any checks in pending, you will need to complete them before you can close off at the end of the month.
